Strengthening collaboration between Zhejiang University and UNESCO-IHE

On December 16 the Vice-President of the Zhejiang University (ZJU), Prof. Zhu Shiqiang and the Rector of UNESCO-IHE, Dr. Fritz Holzwarth, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen the collaboration between the Ocean College of the Zhejiang University (OC/ZJU) and UNESCO-IHE. The signing ceremony took place at UNESCO-IHE.

The Zhejiang University (ZJU), also known as Che Kiang University, is one the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education of China. The university is located in the city of Hangzhou. The focus of the Ocean College of the Zhejiang University (OC/ZJU) is on Water Resources and Ocean Engineering.

Both institutions will join forces in the field of urban resilience and water-related disaster management. Joint activities will cover capacity development, education and research. It is also the intention to establish a joint laboratory at OC/ZJU.
