More than 170 Egyptian water professionals coming from different disciplines have received their post graduate education at UNESCO-IHE in different water related fields. Since UNESCO-IHE believes in the importance of keeping the links and connections with its Alumni network all over the world, during the visit of Prof. Szöllösi-Nagy, UNESCO-IHE rector to Egypt and to the Hydraulics Research Institute, an Alumni gathering was organized with UNESCO-IHE Egyptian alumni at Marriot Hotel, Cairo Egypt. This gathering included a group of the Egyptian alumni from different organizations and Sectors, and it was a good opportunity for Alumni from 1980's to meet with their Junior colleagues who were graduated recently and to recall memories and experiences during their stay in Delft. During the meeting Prof. Szöllösi-Nagy gave a short speech highlighting that the Institute would like to keep in contact with all its alumni and he invited the group to visit the Institute whenever there is a possibility to see the improvements and developments that has been achieved in the past years. Finally he stressed on the important role UNESCO-IHE is playing in strengthening the water sector in different countries of the world, through its different CB activities including research, training and Education.
