About Watermill
The WaterMill working paper series grew out of the WaterMill project, which is a capacity building project for the water sector in response to the targets of the Millennium Development Goals.
This project offered advanced training programmes at post-graduate level to 72 professionals from partner countries of Dutch development cooperation from 2004 to 2008.
As part of their training they undertook a 6-months research project focusing on specific aspects of the MDGs. The WaterMill working paper series was launched to present the research output of some of these projects.
Given its roots in the WaterMill project, the working papers are primarily written by students and staff of UNESCO-IHE. It is envisaged that the series will increasingly include contributions from UNESCO-IHE partner institutions.
