Candidates from Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) countries are always encouraged to apply for an NFP fellowship, besides any other forms of sponsorship they may be pursuing. Prospective participants are also advised to check with their Dutch diplomatic representation (Netherlands Embassy or Consulate) whether there are any other scholarship opportunities besides those mentioned here. Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) The Netherlands Fellowship Programme is intended to deepen and broaden the knowledge and professional skills of mid-career professionals to enable them to make a better contribution to the development of their organizations and their countries. Prospective participants can apply for the NFP fellowship via SOL (Student Online) of Nuffic. Candidates should be working in a developing country (for the list of NFP countries visit www.nuffic.nl ) in a development-related position, and be nominated by their employer, who pledges to continue payment of their salary and hold their job for them while they are studying in the Netherlands. Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) AKDN agencies conduct their programmes without regard to faith, origin or gender. Aga Khan as got an international scholarship programme to sponsor needy students in the countries where it operates. The scholarships are awarded on a 50% loan and 50% grant. They are normally few and are awarded on a competitive basis.
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Scholarships in Sanitary Engineering
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation contribution is equivalent to USD25,000. This is approximately half of the estimated costs of study towards a Masters in Sanitary Engineering (including tuition fees as well as living expenses, travel costs, accommodation etc.).
