On 2 July 2010, UNESCO-IHE signed a vision statement on strengthening collaboration in water education, research and capacity development with 18 key education and research institutes in higher learning from around the world.

Rectors and Programme Managers were present to take part in the weeklong discussions held in Delft as part of the Partnership Conference in the framework of the UNESCO-IHE Global Partnership for Water Education and Research.
