Pattern Recognition for Reliability Assessment of Water DistributionOn Monday 13 February at 10.00 hrs, the Public Defence and Awarding Ceremony of Nemanja Trifunović will take place. Professor Dr. K. Vairavamoorthy will be his promoter. The title of his thesis is: Pattern Recognition for Reliability Assessment of Water Distribution Mr. Trifunović will give a presentation of his thesis at 10.00 in the Auditorium of the Delft University of Technology (Mekelweg 5). The Public Defence and Awarding Ceremony will start at 10.30 sharp. AbstractThe study investigates the patterns that describe reliability of water distribution networks focusing to the node connectivity, energy balance, and economics of construction, operation and maintenance. A number of measures to evaluate the network resilience are proposed as a part of the methodology for snap-shot assessment based on network configuration and hydraulic performance. Practical outcome of the research is the computer package named NEDRA (NEtwork Design and Reliability Assessment), which consists of the modules for network generation, filtering, initialisation, optimisation, diagnostics and cost calculation, which can be used for sensitivity analyses of single network layout or assessments of multiple layouts.
