UNESCO-IHE assists national and international agencies in the development of water policies. Private sector organizations can also call upon UNESCO-IHE for advice on the sound management of water resources and wastewater so as to develop cleaner production processes.
The Institute participates in national and international working groups for policy development. UNESCO-IHE staff have contributed to the contents of policy documents and their implementation for UNESCO, UNDP’s Symposia on Strategies for Water Sector Capacity Building and the World Water Forums.
The Institute has also organized interactive workshops for the donor community on topics such as integrated water resources management, water supply and sanitation, and achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
