On 18 June, a reunion was held for retired staff members of UNESCO-IHE. Former Professors, (guest) lecturers and other respected colleagues gathered in the auditorium to reminisce the days at IHE as it was then known to many. Very colourful and beautiful presentations on the history of the Institute were given, showing pictures from personal collections, oral interviews and historical evidence.
In addressing the attendees Professor Szöllösi-Nagy, Rector of the Institute, was also quoted saying: "Since my appointment as Rector of UNESCO-IHE in September last year I am curious to meet retired staff, who contributed a great deal to the development of the Institute to its prestigious position it enjoys today in the international academic world.
I thought that it would be a good idea to get together and share with you our current strategical thinking and to learn your views and advice in that regard."
The afternoon concluded with an informal barbecue where many more stories and smiles were exchanged.
