On February 10th, 2011, ten Indonesian students graduated from the Joint Double Degree MSc Programme on Integrated Lowland Development and Management Planning. During the awarding ceremony Professor András Szöllösi-Nagy, UNESCO-IHE's Rector, gave them their degrees.

The ceremony was attended by Professor Badia Perizade, Rector of Sriwijaya University, Professor Kamaluddin, Director of the Post Graduate Programme, Professor Robiyanto Hendro Susanto, Head of the Post Graduate Study Programme on Environmental Science and Dr. Suriyadi, Senior Lecturer in Land and Water Development at UNESCO-IHE.

The Joint Double Degree Programme on Integrated Lowland Development and Management Planning is jointly given with Sriwijaya University in Palembang, South Sumatra. The first awarding ceremony for this Joint Double Degree Programme was held in February 2010, and also graduated ten students.

The programme is especially suited for government staff at the Ministry, Provincial, District and Municipal level involved in lowland development and management planning - both rural and urban - in Indonesia. The programme will be conducted for several years to come and is supported by the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency BAPPENAS and NUFFIC NESO Indonesia.
