A two year Double Degree Master of Science Programme on Integrated Lowland Development and Management Planning (DD-ILDM) was set up in 2007 jointly by UNESCO-IHE, Department of Water Engineering, Core Land and Water Development in collaboration with Sriwijaya University (UNSRI), Palembang, Indonesia.
The programme is supported by the National Development Planning Agency of Indonesia (BAPPENAS) and by the Netherlands Education Support Offices (NESO), Jakarta, Indonesia. The part in Indonesia consists of lectures, exercises, fieldwork, fieldtrips, groupwork and the initial part of the MSc thesis work. The part in the Netherlands consist of lectures, designs, laboratory work, fieldwork, fieldtrips and the final part of the MSc research work. The first group for the DD-ILDM programme graduated in October 2009. It consisted of ten students originating from Indonesian Ministries and government services at National, Provincial, District and Municipal level. The second group also consists of ten students and started in February 2009. Their graduation is planned in February 2011. Open to interested studentsAlthough the programme is primarily intended for government officials from Indonesia, it is open to other interested students as well.
